A Brief Description
Celbridge School of Ballet is now entering its twenty-forth year. The school has been based at The Mill, Celbridge, since its inception, where it caters for the hobby child and the more serious student. Over the years many students have gone on to pursue a career in dance.
The primary focus of Celbridge School of Ballet is ballet training. Students who wish to take external examinations are prepared for those of the internationally recognized Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), and Royal Academy of Dance. (RAD)
Celbridge School of Ballet provides a safe and nurturing environment in which children can develop as dancers and realize their full potential in a non-competitive and creative fashion.
The school mounts a show every three years, affording children and students an opportunity to perform in a theatre. Senior students are encouraged to audition for and perform with the Dublin Youth Dance Company, the Irish National Youth Ballet and Shawbrook Youth Dance.
Former students of the ballet school have gone on to study at:
The Royal Ballet School (Upper)
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland,
Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts, (Tilburg, The Netherlands),
